Bighorn River Big Water
Bighorn, Green, and Wind River Fishing Report: Springtime conditions are in full effect with lots of rain, a little snow, and big water in a lot of the river drainages. Here at Dunoir Fishing, our guides love the big water, ice-off on the lakes, and the fishing that is always to be had somewhere. The fish always have to eat. Here are the area conditions and fishing report:
Bighorn River, Thermopolis, Wyoming: The Bighorn River is BIG right now. The Bighorn River is running large at 5976 c cfs, and fishing has slightly slowed down, but that will change the flows have a few days to stabilize. The nymph fishing is good and knowing the seams that hold fish is key. Streamer fishing is good on the right day with good cloud cover. Do not float from 8th Street to Hot Springs State Park as it is closed to high water.
Green River, Fontenelle, Wyoming: The Green River flows were bumped up to 2600 cfs today. Same of the Bighorn, once the river flows stabilize, fishing will definitely pick up. It doesn’t take long. Fishing has been great on the Green River before the water started bumping up. We will have many more reports to come shortly.
Wind River, Dubois, Wyoming: The Wind River is running high at 1480 cubic feet per second (cfs). Water clarity is improving. The conditions can change quickly on the Wind River depending on precipitation in the mountains. Today, the Wind looked fishable and good in spots. Streamers, streamers, streamers. Keep posted for more reports to come!
