The spring fly fishing in Thermopolis, Wyoming on the Bighorn River has been outstanding! RyHud, Mike, and Leo had perfect weather, great fly fishing, and good times on the Bighorn…as usual. Here is RyHud and Leo with a big bruiser Brown Trout and the fish of the day. Congrats Leo! Nymphing, streamer fishing, and some fantastic dry fly fishing are all happening right now. Spring time is baetis time! I talked to the Bureau of Reclamation and it looks like flows will slowly start to increase with the warmer weather we are getting. Emphasis is getting Boysen Reservoir filled up and keeping down river irrigation flows at the normal 1100-1300 cfs, so no crazy big flows or high water runoff with our below average precipitation. The Bighorn is flowing at 700 cfs right now. We will keep you posted as to when they will issue more water released.
