Fly fishing on the Bighorn River in Thermopolis, Wyoming has been fantastic this summer. We do have a little moss, which is typical in the summer, but it seems to make the fish feed that much more. Our guides have been having fantastic fishing using mayfly dry fly patterns and big foam terrestrials. The nymph bight is still on with annelids, baetis, and sow bug pattterns. I fished with Del and Kurt on the Green River yesterday below Fontenelle near Seedskadee Wildlife Refuge and the fishing is still hot there as well. Once again dry flies and nymphs being the ticket. The big browns didn’t seem to interested in streamers. I would like to congratulate Thomas Light with this nice 23 inch Bighorn River Rainbow. Keep posted for more reports.
