Bighorn River Clean Up in Thermopolis is scheduled for this next Sunday (February 18th) starting at 9 am. There will be a lot of boats on the water, so it may not be the best day to plan a fishing trip. Come on out and help keep the Bighorn River beautiful.

Bighorn River Fishing Report: Spring Flows

The Bighorn River water flows have remained steady at 5500 cfs for several weeks. Inflow is roughly 2500 cfs and Boysen Reservoir is 61% full. We have a very large snowpack in the mountains surrounding the Bighorn Basin, and our first 80 degree weather is projected over the next few days. Lots of melting is going to happen, and we will keep you posted on conditions. Despite the winter storm this weekend and weather patterns the last few weeks we have been catching trout. It is not lights out like most Aprils we are all used too, but fish have to eat and our guides and guests have been bringing in a few nice sized trout each trip. Dunoir Fishing Adventures is happy with the high water! It should only help the fish populations and definitely helped the spawn this spring. We have more guide trips going out this week. Green River Fishing Report: Dam Release Schedule

Fontenelle Dam is scheduled to up the water release over the next few days. Guide Spike was on the Green River last week and water was murky with some improvement as the day went on. The fishing conditions aren’t as good as we saw them in while guiding in February and March. Weather temperatures will be increasing in the area over the next few days as well. The fishing will pick up once we get through some weather, snowmelt, and more stable conditions. Here at Dunoir Fishing Adventures we always have somewhere to fish even during challenging conditions. Bighorn River Fishing Report Wyoming River Flows: The Bighorn River flows are starting to bump up due to the amount of snow in the Wind River and Owl Creek Mountains. Flows have ramped up from 900 to 1525 cfs as of today. Boysen Reservoir is currently 88.8% at capacity. It is expected that the river will soon be up to 2100 cfs. Keep posted to see when the Spring Flush will be happening. It will be this month and more info coming tomorrow. The Bighorn River was off color and had quite a bit of moss floating in it yesterday, but the weather, company and fishing were great. The moss and clarity will only get better as the river flows stabilize. Hot flies: annelids, sow bugs, streamers. Keep posted for Green River water flow information coming soon. It is going to be a big water year!

Bighorn River Wyoming Fishing Report: Temperatures have been cold and we have been receiving some snow. It looks like warm weather is on the way in the next few days. The river is floatable and fishable, especially on a little warmer day. Should the river become iced up on the Bighorn, Dunoir Fishing Adventures is one of three guide services that are permitted to float the Wind River below Boysen Dam. There is always someplace for our guides to float and fish. Hot flies include: sow bugs, annelids, and midges. Streamers have been pretty decent too. We have guided trips coming up and boats going out in a few days. Keep posted for more fishing reports from the Bighorn River in Thermopolis, Wyoming. The river is definitely not crowded right now, and it is great to shake the cabin fever!

Wyoming Fishing Report: Bighorn River, Green River, Lander/Dubois Region

Bighorn River, Wyoming Fishing Report: Water flows on the Bighorn River are starting to drop. Current flows are at 4590 cfs and the Boysen Dam Water Operations is reporting that flows will drop to 4000 cfs. Fishing will be a bit challenging until water flows stabilize out again, which will not be long. Fishing will be great and we are looking forward to dry/dropper fishing again. We had some fun trips go out last week.

Green River, Wyoming Fishing Report: Water flows on the Green River will be dropping from 6200 cfs on June 22 to 1500 cfs by June 30th, 2016. That is a big drop and fishing will be interesting. We have boats going out during this time and will keep you posted on how the fishing is. We are looking forward to it!

Dubois/Lander, Wyoming Fishing Report: Waters are also dropping in Dubois and in Lander, Wyoming. The stillwater/lake fly fishing is really picking up in Dubois along with the stream fishing. The Wind River is starting to shape up nicely. We have trips going out in Dubois this week, so more reports to come.
