Bighorn River Fly Fishing & Water Flows 2019

May 2, 2019 by Jeramie Prine

Bighorn River Fly Fishing & Water Flows 2019: The fly fishing in Thermopolis, Wyoming has been pretty darn fun lately! Our guests have been catching BIG trout on nymphs, dry flies, and streamers. That is a tough combination to beat. Congratulations to Steve and Eric for a great day on the water!

With that said, Bighorn River water flows are bumping up to 1500 CFS for the spring. Water flows will bump up  in the 2000 CFS range in a few more weeks. Dunoir Fishing Adventures will keep you posted on Bighorn River fishing conditions and current water flows.

BIG NEWS: Dunoir Fishing Adventures is making some positive improvements for the 2019 season.

For starters, our guides will all be actively participating in KICK PLASTIC and not longer using disposable plastic water bottles. We will be providing fresh water and doing our part to be good conservational stewards.

Dubois, Wyoming Fishing Report & Bighorn and Green River Conditions

July 11, 2017 by Jeramie Prine

Dubois, Wyoming Yellowstone Cutthroat Fishing

DUBOIS, WYOMING FISHING REPORT: The fly fishing and the river conditions are slowly starting to improve in the Dubois area. The Wind River is still blown out and a lot of that is due to our afternoon storms that have been rolling in. The high mountain tributaries to the Wind River are slowly starting to shape up, but are still running big. We advise anglers to use caution wade fishing and not try to cross too swift of currents. That being said, there are a lot of productive channels to fish. We have been doing well catching some beautiful Yellowstone Cutthroat Trout, and been busy scouting all water in the area. We are honored to be able to fish with a group of excited anglers from Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing for the next three days.

BIGHORN & GREEN RIVER CONDITIONS: The Bighorn River is slowly starting to drop. The current river flows out of Boysen Dam are still at 8432 cfs and water is still off color. We are hoping to see some improvement this week as inflows have dropped significantly.

Green River fishing conditions are remaining good and we have had several trips go out the past few weeks below Fontenelle Dam. A lot of big fish are eating and our clients have been enjoying the great weather and solid fishing. The Green River is currently dropping river flows to 4000 cfs. Fishing has remained good through the drop. We have more trips going out in the next few days, so keep posted.

Bighorn River Fishing Report: Thermopolis, Wyoming

Bighorn River Fishing Report

Bighorn River Fishing Winter Report

Bighorn River Fishing Report Thermopolis, Wyoming: Dunoir Fishing Adventures guides have been busy guiding on the Bighorn River this last week. The fly fishing has been absolutely outstanding and the weather has been wonderful for winter. There have been a few storms that have rolled in lately and that seems to slow the fishing down just a bit, but as soon as the temperatures come up so does the fishing. Guide Jeff Judkins  had three great days out with one of our favorite guests, Ed, on the Bighorn River. The fishing was lights out each day. Ed pulled in some nice trout on annelids, midges, sow bugs, and had one great day on streamers. Always fun.

Bighorn River Fishing Guides Wyoming

Bighorn River Clean Up

Guide, Todd Helms, helped out with Trout Unlimited Bighorn River Clean Up day and hauled in a boat load of trash. This is the first annual event that brought in several guides from the area and spearheaded out of Cody, Wyoming. We were happy to see this event come into fruition as it has been talked about a lot but never done. We appreciate all those volunteers who came to clean the Bighorn River up just in time for spring fishing. We know all people who will float and fish the Bighorn River this year will be happy to see how clean the river is right now!

On another note, guide Jeramie Prine, snowmobiled into the headwaters of the Bighorn River (Wind and Dunoir Rivers) this weekend and there is a tremendous amount of snow in the high country. Early summer conditions will be very interesting. More on that to come in the next report. Keep posted.

Bighorn River Fishing Report

Bighorn River Winter Fishing in Wyoming

Bighorn River Winter Fishing in Wyoming

Bighorn River Fishing Report Thermopolis, Wyoming: Dunoir Fishing Adventures’ guide, Jeramie, fished the Bighorn River yesterday. The fly fishing was great and the weather very cooperative for January fishing. The river is free of ice and boat ramps are not too slick. Trout are holding in deeper slower water with annelids and sow bugs being the ticket. There was about a half an hour of a blue wing olive hatch and a few heads poking up giving opportunity for dry fly fishing. Dunoir Fishing Adventures will be guiding several days this week, so keep posted for more fishing reports to come. We are currently offering discounted drift boat fishing trips for $400, one angler or two. Give us a call or shoot us an email for more details. For more photos of yesterday’s trip check out our Bighorn River Facebook Page.
