Fly Fishing in Wyoming 2023 Season

January 4, 2023 by Jeramie Prine

2023 Wyoming Fishing Guide Dubois Thermopolis

Fly Fishing in Wyoming 2023 Season : The crew at Dunoir Fishing Adventures would like to wish everyone a happy New Year! With new beginnings, brings a new fishing season and adventures in Wyoming to be had in some of the best fly fishing opportunities in the West.

Dunoir Fishing Adventures is happy to announce securing Long-Term Outfitter permits for the Shoshone National Forest: Wind River District for the Dubois area! We are pleased and honored to continue to show our guests the pristine Cutthroat Trout fisheries within the first ever National Forest.

Dunoir Fishing Adventures would like to thank all of our guests that joined us in 2022 (and years previous). It was a very busy season, and many great memories and friendships were formed on the water. Our guides are very grateful for these memories and friendships that run much deeper than “just fishin’.”  We are all looking forward to a new fresh season in 2023.

If you are planning a trip to fly fish in Wyoming, join our experienced and local guides on the Wind River in Dubois and below Boysen Dam, the Bighorn River in Thermopolis, or the Green River below Fontenelle Reservoir. We are one of the few ORVIS-Endorsed Fly Fishing Outfitters in the area, spend countless hours fishing the waters we guide, and sharing fun and quality experiences with our guests.

To book your next fly fishing adventure, give us a call or send us a text at: 307-349-3331

Bighorn River Fishing January Report

February 2, 2016 by Jeramie Prine

Bighorn River January Brown

Bighorn River January Brown

Bighorn River Fly Fishing January Report: Dunoir Fishing Adventures had a fantastic three days on the Bighorn River with Ed. Thanks Ed, and congratulations for catching some nice bruisers from the ‘Horn! January turned out to be a great month for drifting and fishing the river. Last year, the Bighorn had a major ice dam form near Hot Springs State Park destroying the dock at the take-out. So far, the river has been relatively free of ice. We will see what the next month brings. We have been busy taking reservations for this season on the Bighorn River, Green River, and the Wind River. Last season, our guides were completely booked from July to October with few exceptions. We encourage our guests to book their trips as far out in advance in order to reserve their guide for these rivers. Keep posted for more fishing reports and pictures to come!

Big River Flows, Big Trout: Bighorn River Video

June 19, 2015 by Jeramie Prine

Bighorn River Fly Fishing Video by Eric Cook: Thanks Eric for making this great video of our trip this weekend on the ‘Horn. Our guides Jeff and Nick had a stellar day with you guys. Looks like the mantra big water, big flies, equals big fish. The Bighorn River is still flowing at over 7000 cfs, but will be coming down as Wyoming’s waters have peaked. We expect the fishing to be absolutley stellar this year. We have trips going out on the Bighorn and in Dubois this next week, so keep posted for more reports to come.

Bighorn River Fishing Guide Report

Johnny's nephew with a nice brown trout!

Johnny’s nephew with a nice brown trout!

Bighorn River Fishing Guide Report: Spring is in full swing with great trout fishing on the Bighorn River in Thermopolis, Wyoming. Guide Jeff Judkins had a great day with Johnny and his nephew, Calef, who had his first day in a drift boat in Wyoming. The boys had a great day and caught some nice browns and rainbows! The wind was pretty brutal for Thermopolis standards, but the guys fished through it and had good results. Thank you Johnny and Calef for the fun day! We have several boats going out the next few days on the Bighorn River so stay posted for more reports to come.

To see Guide Rick’s full biography click HERE. Keep posted for more fishing reports to come. We have drift boat trips going out this weekend and next week. Fishing has been outstanding. We will see what the cold brings this weekend.

Bighorn River Fly Fishing Winter Report

January 26, 2015 by Jeramie Prine

Winter fly fishing Bighorn River, Wyoming

Winter fly fishing Bighorn River, Wyoming

Bighorn River Fly Fishing Winter Report: Cabin fever has set in, great weather report for today equals fly fishing on the Bighorn River in Thermopolis, Wyoming! The river is clear and free of ice from Wedding of the Waters to 8th Street after the big ice jam and arctic weather we experienced a few weeks ago. It was great to get back on the river again with our good friends Dave and Asha. It was all about the kiddos today and we made sure to get the rod in their hands. We had three children under 12 years old and there was nothing but smiles for miles and good memories made. Fish were keying in on midges, and small bugs. We did see a few nice fish rise for midges on top. With a little more weather we will be fishing dry flies in the middle of winter. We have boats going out this next week, so keep posted for more reports to come. Jump in our boat for our Winter Drift Boat Special on the Bighorn River in Thermopolis for $380 (one or two anglers).
